At the Delhi government’s Independence Day event at Chhatrasal Stadium here, Kejriwal said that free healthcare and education are not freebies, but are essential to develop the nation.
“If India has to be transformed into a prosperous country to become the first the first of all arrangements need to be made to ensure high-quality and free education for every child, and free medical treatment to every Indian. This could be achieved in five years. If children are educated properly, and poverty is eliminated in the next generation.” stated Kejriwal, noting that there’s no way to get rid of it.
In a tribute to all freedom fighters on this day, he said that this is the time to be proud of our achievements, but we must consider our challenges and the steps ahead.
“Singapore which gained Independence 15 years later than India and Japan which had been destroyed in the Second World War got ahead of us.We are not less than other nations.Indians are the most educated and hardworking individuals in the world.Yet we have lagging behind,” he added.
He said that the people of India’s 130 crore need to unite and commit to making India the most powerful nation in the world.
“Giving the best treatment to people isn’t free revdi.People must sell their land and jewellery to get treatment.
We have to make the pledge that if one of the of 130 crore people is sick and suffers from illness, everyone will have the treatment together.Treatment of patients is provided for free in all countries that are wealthy We don’t need insurance, we just need hospitals,” he emphasised in his speech.
“We joined forces and took the Britishers out.If we all come together we could make India the most powerful nation in the world,”” he said in his speech.
