Chandigarh 11 Aug : Congress leaders on Thursday raised the flag of the nation in the Chandigarh residence of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the head of the US-based separatist group “Sikhs For Justice’ (SFJ), who is charged in the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. With tricolurs in hand, Congress president Gursimran Singh Mand, who hails from Ludhiana together with his supporters gathered in front of the house of Pannun and raised slogans.They then erected an unofficial flag in front of the main gate of the house as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’.
On the outside wall of the house the proclamation notice that was that was issued by the NIA court in Mohali is also put up.
Pannun who has requested youngsters to raise the Khalistani flag on Independence Day, has been actively promoting and financing the separatist Khalistan agenda in other countries.
In the year 2019 the Centre had the Centre banned SFJ on the grounds of secessionism.
The group is working to launch a campaign to the secession of Punjab.
