Panaji 23 Nov : .Tourist safety and narcotics control will be top priorities of the Goa Police’s newly-appointed Director General Police Indra Shukla stated Tuesday. Shukla was appointed the top state cop and said he will try to instill a culture for courteous policing.The state has suffered from bad press in recent years due to a number of police officers’ derelictions.
Tourist safety is our top priority.Narcotics activities are another priority.Roads will remain smooth.After taking over in Goa, Shukla stated that there are issues with parking along the roads.
He also said that green corridors would be promoted to protect the environment and ensure smooth traffic.
“I don’t want any police officer to behave badly with anyone.” No.It is not.He also stated that he needed his policemen to talk while being helpful to all citizens and tourists.
A top official in police also stated that he will focus on technology to improve policing along the coast.
Technology is the backbone of any police force.Technology is also needed to combat cybercrime.
It is my priority that everyone in my force and my police be equipped with the latest technology.Shukla said that technology cannot be ignored.”
