A Telugu film director-cum- producer was arrested by Hyderabad police for having illegal firearms.As per reports producer of the film ‘Aunty, Uncle and Nandagopal’ Bejjam Rajesh Putra was arrested in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad by the west zone police on Thursday for illegal possession of firearms.
Two country-made pistols and 16 live rounds were seized from him.Acting on a tip-off, task force police raided the house of Bejjam Rajesh Putra at Jubilee Hills and recovered illegal firearms
Putra is a native of Eluru in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh and he reportedly confessed that he brought the weapons from Bihar in 2010
Rajesh earlier associated with many political parties and he even contested from a Lok Sabha seat.He has many criminal cases registered on him in Eluru like murder to illegal possession of arms.
Though he contested in 1998, he lost and in 2007 he entered films.
He also produced films like ‘Dawood’ and ‘Nawab Pasha’ and soon to turn director with film Sania (proposed and to be directed by him)
