The Tollywood drugs case has taken another turn.The entire court in this case filed a contempt petition.
CS Somesh Kumar has filed an entire petition against Sarfaraz Ahmed, director of the Excise Department, for not providing digital data related to the case.
The court sought to convict Somesh Kumar and Sarfaraz Ahmed under contempt of court and to take steps to enforce the orders given earlier.
Someshkumar said notices were sent to Sarfaraz Ahmed by his lawyer on the 13th of this month.The petition will be heard soon.
On February 2, the High Court directed the government to provide full details of the Tollywood drugs case.The entire letter was written to the Excise Department on February 8 to give digital data of the accused and witnesses.
However, the state government’s chief secretary Somesh Kumar and excise director Sarfaraz Ahmed have filed a petition in the high court alleging that digital data on the drugs case was not provided despite the high court order.ED said the lack of details was having an impact on the case investigation.
The court asked the high court to take contempt action against both of them.
