Chennai 18 August : Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company (Tangedco) has set up special teams to investigate the power infrastructure in all assemblies constituents of the state. The teams of officers and engineers are scheduled to present their report within one week.
Tamil Nadu power minister, Senthil Balaji in a statement issued on Thursday said that the plan is in line with the instructions of the Chief Minister M.K.Stalin.The team is expected to visit all villages and provide an update on the infrastructure for power in every area of the state.
The report, as per the officials in Tangedco will be produced to get a clear understanding of what was not working and what was required regarding electricity infrastructure was in the state in Tamil Nadu.
The group of officials will examine the amount of transformers, poles substations and power lines in the state in the towns and villages of the state.
The team will also engage with the representatives of the people in the region, which includes elected members of local bodies MPs, MLAs and MLAs about the infrastructure for power in their respective regions.
The state power minister stated there was an excess of electricity in the state and this is mostly due to proper use of renewable energy sources like wind and solar energy.
The Minister also stated that the state hasn’t wasted a single watt of renewable energy.
