Chennai 7 August : Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) will hold public hearings in Chennai on the 22nd of August concerning the increase in the power tariff suggested by the power utility Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company (TANGEDCO). The TNERC, in a statement on Sunday, stated that the hearing would be held in Coimbatore on the 16th of August, in Madurai on August 18 and in Chennai on the 22nd of August.TNERC in its statement stated that those interested in making their voice heard could be registered between 9 and 10.30 am.
It is worth noting that the tariff revision plans of TANGEDCO has been posted to the website of both TANGEDCO and TNERC.TNERC has also notified the public to respond by August 22 in response to the proposal posted by TANGEDCO.
The TNERC will give an approval to the proposed proposal of TANGEDCO but only after public hearings and the response from the public to the plans.It is expected to approve the proposal beginning on September 1, and thereafter.
