Chennai, November 19, : , The Tamil Nadu government has formed a Road Safety Authority to carry out safety-enhancing schemes on the roads. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin presided over a meeting on Thursday with ministers from different departments to discuss various aspects of road safety.
According to the Chief Minister, officials were instructed by the Chief Minister to lower the rate of road accidents fatalities.Currently it is at 23.9 per thousand people.
He stated that several schemes were being proposed for improving road safety and urged officials to consider making road travel safer for commuters.
According to this statement, the state government has already prepared a plan to promote road safety and has enlisted 609 hospitals in order to render medical aid to victims of accidents within 48 hours.
In the statement, it was also stated that Rs 50 crore had been set aside to start a program to offer medical aid to victims of accidents within 48 hours.
According to the statement, this scheme will provide emergency response, rescue, resuscitation and damage control, as well as rehabilitation.
In the statement, it was also stated that the government will enact legislation to improve road safety.
In the statement, it was stated that everyone involved in accidents on roads, even foreigners, would benefit from this new program.
