Tragedy took place at the Singareni coal mine in Peddapalli district.Three people were trapped under the coal piles.

Assistant Manager Chaitanya Tej, Safety Officer Jayaraj and contract worker Srikanth were killed.The rescue team pulled out three bodies.

The bodies were shifted to Godavarikhani Singareni Area Hospital for postmortem.A total of seven workers were trapped under the piles of coal and four workers survived.

The accident took place on Monday when the roof of an underground mine collapsed at the Adriyala Longwall project in the Ramagundam region.Area safety officer Jayaraj, mine deputy manager Teja and five other workers were involved in the accident.Three were brought out on Monday.Ravinder was rescued by the rescue team yesterday.Teja, Jayarai and Srikanth, who were trapped under the rubble, were airlifted and three bodies were exhumed today.

“The incident is unfortunate and there are no security lapses in Singareni,” said Singareni director Balaram Nayak.This is the first time that a major accident has occurred at the Adria Longwall project, which is being run with the most advanced foreign technology in Singareni.On the other hand their family members are in tears as the three were killed in the accident.
