Sun Pharma company launched low price Covid-19 tablet.
Till now Remdesivir and Favipiravir are the two prominent medicines used for Coronavirus treatment.
While Remdesivir is an injection vial, Favipiravir is the only oral antiviral medicine approved in India for mild to moderate Covid-19 patients.The tablet costs Rs 103 per 200 mg.The treatment with Remdesivir vial costs around Rs 50,000.And if it is done through Favipiravir tablets, the entire cost nearly ends at Rs 15,000 for a patient.
This range of treatment may not be apt for poor and below poverty people.
Hence the prominent company Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd has come up with a low-price Favipiravir tablet.The company named it as FluGuard and priced at just Rs.35.Each FluGuard tablet contains 200 mg of Favipiravir that should be given to mild to moderate Coronavirus patients.
Sun Pharma has already got permission from the government and the tablets will be available in the market this week.
Meanwhile, the Russian government has announced that its COVID vaccine is successfully tested and the production can start in the next month.
