Melbourne, 26 December : .Australia was 61/1 at stumps against England, which Australia lost by 124 runs on the first day of the Boxing Day test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Nathan Lyon (0 of 5) and Marcus Harris (20 from 51) were the only two players to remain unbeaten at the crease on Day 1.
Australia beat England by 185 runs in the first innings.Their openers Harris, David Warner and David Anderson had an impressive start.In-form Warner was dismissed by James Anderson, a veteran seamer.
The England bowlers were not allowed to choose any other wicket by Harris or Lyon, and they returned unbeaten to the pavilion.
England is now trailing the five best-of-5 series by 2-0.They must continue to fight for this Ashes.
