T’gana High court puts stay on reopening of schools from tomorrow

The Telangana state government is planning to reopen the educational institutions from September 1.However, recently, the Telangana High Court gave a shock to the Telangana state government over the reopening of educational institutions in the state.

The Telangana High court issued interim orders on Tuesday imposing a stay on the reopening of schools and colleges in the state.The Telangana High Court directed the Telangana state government not to force students to attend offline classes.

It clarified that no action should be taken against students who do not attend classes offline.

M Balakrishna, a resident of Hyderabad, has filed public interest litigation in the Telangana high court seeking to dismiss the orders issued by the Telangana state government to open educational institutions from September 1.The petitioner alleged that the Telangana state government had issued these orders without taking any special action regarding the opening of schools.

The bench comprising interim Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice T Vinodkumar heard the petition and issued interim orders on schools reopening.

The Department of Education has been directed to issue guidelines within a week to conduct offline classes in schools.
