Hyderabad, Nov 30, : Telangana State BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar said Tuesday that the state government would have to procure paddy in the upcoming Rabi season. The Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao had announced that the government would not set up procurement centers in view of the Centre’s decision to not lift the paddy from the State.However, a BJP leader stated that the state government would have to procure paddy in Rabi just like it does during the current Kharif season.
The Centre’s refusal of procuring parboiled rice from the State led to the Chief Minister announcing Monday that the state would not procure paddy from farmers.

Sanjay challenged Sanjay to prove that he would not set up procurement centers.
KCR, the chief minister, is well-known for threatening Sanjay for encouraging farmers to plant paddy crops despite the Centre stating that it won’t buy parboiled rice.
Sanjay stated that the BJP will be responsible for procuring raw rice.He disputed KCR’s claim that only Parboiled Rice is produced in Telangana during Rabi.
He claimed that the state government does not supply five types of seeds that can be used to grow raw rice.
The chief minister was reminded by the leader of BJP that he had repeatedly stated that the state would procure all grain produced in the state.
He wondered why he was not keeping his word.
Sanjay also claimed that Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders (TRS), conspired with rice millers, and used irregularities in rice procurement.
He claimed that they were recycling old rice, and giving it to Food Corporation of India (FCI).
FCI is also conducting an acid test to determine if rice has old or new, claimed the leader of BJP.
He said that TRS leaders are concerned about being exposed and are therefore staging dharnas.
The BJP leader strongly objected to the language used against G.Kishan Reddy by the chief minister and warned that if BJP leaders started responding in the same manner, he would not be able bear it.
Sanjay claimed that TRS was responsible to the deaths of many farmers, students, and unemployed youth of the state, while KCR branded BJP the killer of 750 farmers.
A.Revanth Reddy, chief of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committees (TPCC), claimed that TRS and BJP were both cheating farmers.He claimed that both parties were playing games with paddy procurement.
The leader of the Congress stated that if the Centre cannot procure paddy, then the state government should step in and procure it.
He asked, “Why can’t the state government procure paddy from them when it claims it spends thousands of crores on farmers?”
Revanth Reddy stated that if the paddy is not purchased, what is the purpose of irrigation projects built at thousands of crores and Rythu Bandhu.
