All hurdles cleared for Amma Jayalalitha to make re entry as Tamil Nadu CM.Jayalalithaa was re- elected as the leader of the legislature party by the lawmakers of AIADMK.This move has paved a way for her return as Tamil Nadu’s chief minister after her acquittal in the disproportionate assets case.
She has also been invited by the Governor K.Rosaiah to form the government.According to a Raj Bhavan statement, Panneerselvam submitted his resignation to Rosaiah.
“The Governor of Tamil Nadu has invited Selvi (Ms) J Jayalalithaa to form the Ministry at the earliest and requested her to send the list of persons to be appointed as Ministers with portfolios,” the statement said.
Earlier in the day Jayalalithaa was elected unanimously as AIADMK Legislature leader at a meeting of her party MLAs.
Paneer Selvam announced Amma name as legislature party leader amidst clapping of all the law makers.He also said he would resign as chief minister and leader of legislature party.
Jayalalitha disqualified from holding office due to conviction in a disproportionate assets case on 27 September 2014.On May 11, 2015 Karnataka High Court acquitted Jayalalithaa in disproportionate assets case.
