Addressing a public meeting in Nirmal in the Adilabad district after inaugurating the Integrated District Collectorate Complex constructed at a cost of ₹56.2 crore, he said those criticising the Dharani portal must be dumped in the Bay of Bengal.

When he asked the public whether they want the Dharani portal or not, then the public responded with loud applause.

“Do the Congress leaders want the same system where Village Revenue Officers (VROs) exploited farmers and overnight the names of the genuine land owners were changed from the crucial land document called ‘pahani’?” Rao asked.

The Congress leaders wanted to bring back the corruption by saying that they would dump the Dharani portal in the Bay of Bengal, he alleged.

After the portal was introduced, landowners were able to complete their agricultural land registrations within 15 minutes without any scope for corruption.

He asked whether the farmers were getting money into their accounts with the help of the portal.

He advised the people to think about the benefits of the portal.

Congratulating ministers, elected representatives and teaching staff for making the district top in tenth-class results, Rao said plans had been chalked out for the overall development of Basara temple.

“I will visit the temple soon and lay the foundation stone,” he said. The erstwhile Adilabad district covered with dense forest was now divided into four districts.

As against one medical college in erstwhile Adilabad, three medical colleges were now established.
