Minister of Prohibition & Excise, Sports & Youth Services, Tourism & Culture and Archaeology’ of Telangana, V.Srinivas Goud announced that Telangana Chief Minister KCR has decided to increase the pension for aged artists from Rs.1500 to Rs.3,016.He said that the increased pension will be in force from June 2 on the occasion of Telangana State Emergence Day.
On Thursday, Minister Srinivas Goud held a high-level review meeting.Speaking at the meeting, the Minister said that the government has decided to bring the increased pensions into force for elderly artists from June 2, 2021, on the occasion of Telangana State Emergence Day.He said that around 2,661 aged artists would get benefited from this.
Minister Srinivas Goud thanked Chief Minister KCR for increasing the pension for the aged artists He said that Chief Minister KCR is an art lover, and was hailed as a leader who was highly respected by artists.He recalled that when the state of Telangana was formed, the Hon’ble Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhara Rao has increased the pension for artists from Rs.500 to Rs.1500.The minister said that since October 2014, the TRS govt has been implementing the increased pension.
