Vijayawada (Dec 29) : Telugu Desam Party, (TDP), and ex-Andhra Pradesh Chief minister N.Chandrababu Naidu said Wednesday that if Vangaveeti Radha was hurt, then the YSR Congress Party government would be responsible. Opposition leader claimed that Vangaveetiradha was the target of a plot.In a letter addressed to Gautam Sawang (Director General of Police), Naidu requested a transparent investigation into Vangaveeti Radha’s latest Vijayawada recce.
Radha claimed that his life was in danger while he participated in Vengaveeti’s death anniversary.Radha claimed that some political-motivated people conducted a search of his office and house.
Ranga was a Congress member and an influential leader in Kapu community.He was fasting at Vijayawada December 26, 1988 when he was attacked to death.
Radha made the allegation that the state offered security to Radha, but he declined the offer because his well-wishers and followers would be better able to protect Radha.
Chandrababu Naidu demanded in a letter addressed to the DGP that strict action be taken against anyone who had held the recce with the intent to murder Radha.
He said that it was shocking to see the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh deteriorate under the YSRCP’s ‘Goonda Raj’.
According to Naidu, Radha stated that a number of people had been following Radha around to perform recce and attack on him.According to the TDP chief, such illegal acts committed in broad daylight have been the hallmark of Andhra Pradesh’s reign of goonda Raj and jungle over the last two-and-half years.
Mohana Ranga, who was in Vijayawada on hunger strike in 1988 was killed.
This sparked unprecedented violence in Vijayawada as well as other Krishna parts and neighboring areas.Property worth more than Rs 100 crore was also damaged and over 40 were killed.
After N.T., the chief minister of TDP, ended violence, Rama Rao forced Devineni Rajasekhar, a rival TDP politician, to surrender.Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, the former home minister, had to also resign.
Ranga also claimed a danger to his life, and he went on a fast demanding security until he was killed.
Ramgopal Verma, a Telugu filmmaker, had created “Vangaveeti,” a Telugu film based on the feud among the two families Radha and Deveneni Rajasekhar of different castes.
Radha quit YSRCP after he was refused ticket from Vijayawada central assembly constituency.Later, he joined TDP.
