Without giving any surprise the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh has retained Nandigama assembly seat.TDP candidate T.Soumya defeated Babu Rao of Congress party by over 70,000 votes.She got 99,748 votes while her closest opponent Congress candidate closed only 24,921 votes.

The main contenders are Tangirala Sowmya daughter of Late Prabhakara Rao Tangirala and from Congress party Bodapati Babu Rao.
