Overshadowing 29 other Indian films, Tamil film Visaranai has made into Oscars as India’s official contender for Foreign Language film category in 89th academy awards.
The film is based on police brutality, inspired from Lock up written by M.Chandrakumar.It has bagged three National Film awards in India.
Visaranai, along with critical acceptance, also went on pooling good profits for the makers at boxoffice.
Visaranai is produced by actor Dhanush and directed by Vetrimaaran.
It had Dinesh, Anandhi, Aadukalam Murugadoss and Samuthirakani in the lead roles.On a reminding note, the 89th Academy Awards is scheduled to take place in February 2017 at Los Angeles.
