Taliban prevent Pakistani army from fencing Durand Line at Nimroz

New Delhi, December 31, : , Taliban security forces stopped Pakistani troops from fencing a part of Durand Line, a province in southwest Nimroz, Afghanistan, Pajhwok News reported.
Unnamed sources claimed that the Pakistani military planned to install a fence along Durand Line, Chaharboluk’s Dak district.

According to the report, Pakistani troops entered Afghanistan’s territory from 10-15 metres.They were planning on establishing a base military and fencing.

However, Taliban security personnel prevented them from achieving their goal.

According to a source, Afghan security forces had taken Fencing-related materials.

Pajhwok attempted to contact provincial officials regarding the matter but was not able to get a response.

Express Tribune reported that Pakistani and Taliban officials had reached an agreement to end the dispute over border fencing after Taliban soldiers tried to breach the fence in Nangarhar’s eastern province.

According to the report, a Taliban intelligence chief tried to take down the fence.However, it wasn’t approved by the Taliban leadership.

Shortly after the incident, Pakistan and Taliban made contact at the highest levels and reached an agreement to solve the problem through negotiations.The official stated that both sides had reached an agreement not to escalate the crisis.

He also said there were issues about border fencing, and they would work together to resolve them.

The official stated that the Afghan side had been requested to coordinate the border alignment prior to erecting the fence.
