Its known that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has initiated stringent action against popular television channels – TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothi, for allegedly belittling Telangana MLAs, MLCs and Telangana State Legislature through a news item which comprises alleged malicious content.
KCR cracked the whip against these two channels and the programs were stopped from June 16 across Telangana .Following the orders, the Telangana MSOs stopped airing their programs.
The issue recently discussed in Rajya sabha and the broadcasting minister warned the MSO’S and asked to lift the ban.He even warned with dire consequences including cancellation of licences.

Defying the deadline set by Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry, T-MSOs did not resume the broadcast of the banned News Channels, TV9 and ABN-Andhra Jyothy in Telangana State
They said that MSOs will telecast only those channels which are liked by the Telangana people, but not the others.
MSO union challenged Central Minister Prakash Javadekar to tell DTH companies to telecast 100’s of channels to everyone which isn’t possible.
They also Highlighted that they are not afraid of Union Ministers Warning that cancellation of MSO licence.
