New Delhi, November 18 : .The defending champions Tamil Nadu & Vidarbha achieved their matches’ totals to reach the semi-finals of 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Tamil Nadu managed to score 182 runs with just five wickets against Kerala at Arun Jaitley Stadium.Vidarbha, however, smashed Rajasthan to win comfortably.

Vidarbha then scored 85 to earn a comfortable nine-wicket victory at Palam’s Air Force Ground.
On November 20, Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad will meet in the semis, while Vidarbha faces Karnataka.

In chasing 182, N Jagadeesan fell early.Hari Nishanth scored 32 runs, while Sai Sudharsan ran 32 more.Tamil Nadu was at 58 runs by the time power-play ended.After power-play ended, Nishanth was outed for a 32-run run.However, that did not stop Tamil Nadu from hitting seven fours in their 31-ball 46.He also participated in a 57-run stand (33 runs off 26 balls) with skipper Vijay Shankar.Sanjay Yadav was able to score 32 runs off 22 balls with Shahrukh Khan.Shahrukh Khan hit two sixes from his unbeaten 19-ball 9.M Mohammed completed the chase with six-over cow corner as the four remaining batters crossed the 30-run mark.

Kerala had a strong batting performance, despite Sanju Samson being out for a two ball duck.

Rohan Kunnummal scored a 53-ball 51 runs and formed successful partnerships with Sachin Baby (33) and Mohammed Azharuddeen (15).Yadav took out Kunnummal and Samson in 13 overs.

This brought Tamil Nadu back into the match.Tamil Nadu was caught off guard by a Vishnu Vinod’s late attack (65 runs from 26 balls).

Vinod hit seven sixes and two fours to get Kerala beyond 180 runs.However, it was not enough.

Kerala scored 62 runs in the final three overs.

Vidarbha didn’t have to chase Vidarbha to secure their semi-final place.

This was thanks to the bowlers who took one wicket and had economy rates that were not higher than six.Vidarbha bowled first and reduced Rajasthan to 18/5 after 4.5 innings.Yash Thakur took two wickets.

Vidarbha never permitted Rajasthan to settle down after power play.Rajasthan was only able to manage 84/8 with Kamlesh Nagarkoti scoring 39 runs off 48 balls.

He was the only batsman to make it into double figures, along with Mahipal Lomror (11) & Suraj Ahuja (12).

Atharva Tade and Ganesh Satish, who were chasing a pitiful total, put on a stand of 63 runs.

Aniket Choudhary dismissed Satish (28) to end the first partnership.However, Taide (40% off 42 balls), who was run out by Taide (38) and Akshay Wadkar (11) completed the chase in 15 overs.

Brief scores; Kerala: 181/4 in 20 overs (Vishnu Vinod 65 not out, Rohan Kunnummal 51, Sanjay Yadav 2/23, Murugan Ashwin 1/20) lost to Tamil Nadu: 187/5 in 19.3 overs (Sai Sudharsan 46, Vijay Shankar 33, Unnikrishnan Manukrishnan 3/26, Sudhesan Midhun 1/32) by 5 wickets.

Rajasthan: 84/8 after 20 overs.(Kamlesh Ngarkoti 39, Mahipal Lomror 11, Yash Thkur 2/24 and Akshay Karnewar 1/7) Vidarbha: 87/1 (Atharva Tade 40, Ganesh Satish 28; Aniket Choudhary 1/4).Vidarbha was defeated by Vidarbha, 87/1 after 14.5 overs.
