New Delhi, November 18th : .Three-time winners Karnataka, Hyderabad and the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy reached the quarterfinals.

They won contrasting victories to reach the semi-finals.Karnataka was forced to beat Bengal by super-over, but Hyderabad defeated Gujarat in 30 runs.
Karnataka scored 160/5 in the Arun Jaitley stadium’s second quarterfinal after just 20 overs.Rohan Kadam, captain Manish Pantdey and Sharath BR lost early in the match.They tried to revive the innings.Pandey was unable to move the innings into second gear and left for a 29-ball 29.To push the team to a par total, Karun Nair hit a 55-ball 29.AbhinavManohar also assisted Nair, hitting three fours as well as a six with his nine-ball 19.Nair and Aniruddha hit five boundaries after Manohar was dismissed.Karnataka had scored 61 runs in five overs.

Bengal, who was chasing 161, had an excellent start.ShreevatsGoswami struck Vijaykumar Vyshak with 20 runs in his first over.

The team reached 52 at the end of power play, but they had already lost Goswami and Abhishek Der to that point.Writtick chatterjee (51/41 off 40 balls) & Kaif Ahmed (20/26 balls) attempted to take control of the match.

Twenty were required for the final over after Shahbaz Ahmad and the duo fell in rapid succession.Ritwik Choudhary, 36 runs not out from 18 balls, hit Patil’s first two balls for sixes.

The match entered Super Over when Akash Deep, who was running short on the last ball and required one run to win it, ran out.

Bengal was unable to make 5/2 in the Super Over with just four balls.Kaif was out bowled by KC Cariappa.Goswami ran out the second day.To get Karnataka to the semi-finals, Pandey required a brace as well as a six-over deep mid-wicket.

In the meantime, Hyderabad’s star players in victory over Gujarat were Tilak Verma (75) and T Ravi Teja (3/27), in the fourth quarterfinal at Palam’s Air Force Ground.

Pragnay Reddy was dropped by Hyderabad after being placed in batting.Varma and Tanmay Agarwal made 46 runs to ensure Hyderabad did not have any further problems in power-play.

Varma was batting alongside Himalay (23 runs off 26 balls).Hyderabad reached 158/5 with Varma’s 50-run partnership of Rahul Buddhi and Varma in just 28 deliveries.

Varma scored five fours with two sixes; Buddhi hit three fours and one six, to stay unbeaten.

Gujarat fell to 33/3 in 8 overs, as Dhruv Raval, Urvil Patel and Saurav Chauhan, who were the three top wicket-takers, failed to contribute much.

Although Het Patel (25), Piyush Chawla (25) & Ripal Patel (35) attempted to reduce the total, they never saw the need to repair the damage caused in the eight first overs.They eventually fell short of their target.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad scored 158 runs in 20 overs.(Tilak Vija 75, Tanmay Agwal 31, Piyushchawla 31 and Chintan Gaja 32).Gujarat was defeated by Gujarat at 128/8 after 20 overs.(Ripal Pavtel 35, Piyushchawla 20, T Ravi Teja 3/27, CV Milind 2/28) By 30 runs.
