New Delhi, January 1, : .Swiggy’s online food delivery service said Saturday that it had broken its December 31 record for 5,500 food orders per hour.The night ended with an unprecedented 9,500 food order per minute. According to the company, this was India’s highest food delivery rate.
We exceeded our expectations by a large margin this year and we were overwhelmed by customer responses.OPM reached nearly 9,500 levels by the time of early dinner, almost 1.7x more than last year,” said the company in a statement.
It added that “as the night progressed we saw a 177% jump in active users on our platform”
Our platform saw an 80 percent increase in users, indicating that customers are keen to place orders online.
This number was 68% in tier 2/3 cities.Surat, Mangaluru and Patna were the most popular cities with new users.
Vizag, at 190, was the most order-per-minute city in tier 2.Orders grew by 300 percent in cities like Rourkela or Palakkad.
According to the company, the achievement of more than two million orders within one night was possible without the help of thousands of road partners.
