Andhra Pradesh secured better place than Telangana in the fifth edition of national annual cleanliness survey.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has recently released the Swachh Survekshan 2020 list based on some criteria.
The Indore city of Madhya Pradesh has shined again as India’s cleanest city fourth time in a row while the state holds the top position in the states’ list.The sacred town Varanasi, which is also Modi’s constituency, has been chosen as the cleanest town in India.
Telangana has found no place either in the states’ list or in the cities’ list of ‘Top 25 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) – More than 1 Lakh Population’.On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh secured its position at 6th, 12th, 17th in the names of Vijayawada, Tirupati, GVMC Visakhapatnam.
The only place Telangana found its place is ‘States with Less than 100 ULBs’ where it stood at 8th place.
If the cities list with 1-10 lakhs population is considered, only 10 cities of TG entered into the list where Karimnagar stood at 73rd rank.
Besides, Greater Hyderabad has settled with 23rd rank in the list with population range >10 lakhs.The list is announced by the Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday.
