Patna, Nov 29, : Sushil Kumar Modi, a senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, has challenged NITI Aayog’s latest report ranking Bihar lowest on all parameters. The former deputy chief minister to the state, Sunday evening, claimed that Aayog prepares reports independently of consulting the respective state governments.
It is therefore not grounded in ground reality.
“The NITI Aayog somehow prepared reports pertaining education, health and road infrastructures and placed Bihar on the bottom.
Its officials chose an outdated mechanism to evaluate things that are incorrect.They should consult the respective states governments and evaluate facilities keeping in mind the evolution of the past 10 to 15 years,” Modi, a close friend to Nitish Kumar, stated.
“If we analyze the education system, road infrastructure, per-capita income, and health, Bihar will be at the top.Modi stated that NITI Aayog should alter the analysis process before publishing a report.
He stated that the Aayog’s analysis program is based on 2015-16 and needs to be updated.
“How can NITI Aayog assess developed states like Punjab and Gujarat with backward state like Bihar, Odhisha, or smaller states such as Goa and Uttarakhand? Modi stated that reports should be prepared based on the population, area and resources of a state.
