Suriya will be next seen playing the lead role in a film which will be helmed by Pandiraj.After the release of Karthi starrer Kadaikutty Singam, Suriya announced that he is teaming up with the director of the film, Pandiraj, for a rural entertainer, which will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
Now the latest news is that this film which is tentatively called #Suriya40, was launched on Monday with a customary puja in Chennai.The team confirmed the news by sharing pictures from the pooja.
The event took place in line with the COVID-19 safety protocols.The guest list was limited to the film’s cast and crew, put together by Pandiraj.
Sun Pictures official Twitter handle tweeted the opening ceremony photos saying, “#Suriya40BySunPictures shoot begins! @Suriya_offl will join the sets soon #Suriya40Poojai #Suriya40”.The project will mark Pandiraj’s third project with Suriya after ‘Pasanga 2’ and ‘Kadaikutty Singam’.
Young actress Priyanka Arul Mohan who will be making her Kollywood debut with Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Doctor’, will be seen as the female lead in this upcoming film which is said to be a rural-based action drama.Another interesting news is that popular comedian Vadivelu will also be a part of the cast.The Suriya-Vadivelu combo is reuniting twelve years after ‘Aadhavan’.

Imman who has earlier worked with the director Pandiraj in Karthi’s ‘Kadikutty Singam’ and Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Namma Veetu Pillai‘, has been roped in to score the music.Suriya was last seen in ‘Soorarai Pottru’, which was a decent hit on OTT.He also has a project, titled ‘Vaadivasal’, with Vetrimaaran and Mani Ratnam’s web series ‘Navarasa‘ in the pipeline
