Stalin urges TN Guvs to forward NEET exemption bills to President

Chennai, Nov 27 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin met Governor R.N.Ravi met Stalin on Saturday and asked him to forward the Bill seeking an exemption from the medical entrance examination to the President for his assent.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly in September passed the bill seeking an exemption from the National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET) and making admissions to medical colleges based on the Plus-2 marks scored by the students.

It was passed by voice vote as the Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical Degree Courses Act-2021.

This is the second time that a bill was passed in the Assembly for such a purpose.

During the AIADMK regime, a similar bill was passed by assembly.However, the President did not give his assent.

Stalin, along with two other ministers and officials, called Ravi at Raj Bhavan to urge him to forward the Bill for President Ram Nath Govind.
