Stalin announces an increase in DA for Govt employees and pensioners

Chennai, Aug 15 : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin has announced on Monday a three percent increase in Dearness Allowances (DA) that will go from 31 percent to 34 percent, for pensioners and employees of the government.
The decision of the Chief Minister’s decision will result in the addition of a cost of the sum of 1947.6 crore for the Treasury and will help 16 lakh people, which includes the retired and active government employees.

In his address to the public following lifting the national flag at Independence Day, Stalin announced that the pension of freedom fighters was increased from Rs 18,000 to 20,000 as of August 15.The pension of the family members of a freedom fighter is now Rs 10,000, up from the previous Rs 6,000.

The monthly family allowance to the descendants of Veerapandya Kathta Bomman Maruthu Pandiyars Mutharamalinga Vijayaraghunatha Sethupathi and V.O.Chidambaram has also been increased from 9000 to Rs 10000.
