SS Rajamouli, the Indian filmmaker, shared a photo on Twitter with MM Keeravani, an Oscar-winning composer who was recently awarded the Padma Shri honour, the fourth-highest civilian award in India.Rajamouli expressed his pride in Keeravani, referring to him as his big brother.
Keeravani received the Padma Shri award from President Droupadi Murmu, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in attendance.
Keeravani composed the song Naatu Naatu, which won an Oscar award in the Original Song category, making RRR the first Indian production to receive an Oscar.
Deepika Padukone introduced the performance at the Oscars, which earned a standing ovation.Keeravani expressed his joy at winning the Oscar, saying in his acceptance speech that his only wish was for RRR to win and to make every Indian proud.
Chiranjeevi, a famous Indian actor, recently honoured Rajamouli and Keeravani at his son Ram Charan’s birthday celebration.Chiranjeevi shared their pictures from the event on his Instagram page, stating that their achievement would remain etched in history.
RRR, the film for which Keeravani composed Naatu Naatu, is a fictional story set in the 1920s pre-independent era.The film is based on the lives of two real-life heroes and revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, with Ram Charan and Tarak portraying the roles of Ram and Bheem, respectively.The film was celebrated for its breathtaking action sequences and grossed over Rs.1200 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.
On the other hand, Indian President Murmu provided awards to 106 people from different fields such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering.
