Chennai, Nov 14, : , Angoda Lokka, a dead Sri Lankan underworld figure, was arrested by the Crime Branch CID team from Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore.

According to Coimbatore police, Thananayaka was one of the most wanted criminals in Sri Lanka.Coimbatore police said Thananayaka was among the most wanted criminals of Sri Lanka.

Both of them were produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate, Coimbatore, Sanjeevi Bhaskar, who sent them to judicial custody on Saturday night.They were both brought before Sanjeevi Bhhaskar, Chief Judicial Magistrate of Coimbatore.

Lokka passed away in Coimbatore on July 3, 2020 due to cardiac arrest.

Lokka died in Coimbatore, India on July 3, 2020 after suffering a cardiac arrest.He was in hiding at Coimbatore and police arrested Madurai-based lawyer, Sivakami Sundar for sheltering him.Sivakami Sundar, a Madurai-based lawyer was arrested for sheltering Lokka while he was hiding in Coimbatore.Her friend Dhyaneswaran was also arrested for helping Lokka stay with a different identity.Lokka’s friend Dhyaneswaran, who helped Lokka to remain with a different identity was also taken into custody.

Lokka’s lover Amani Dhanji, who was staying with him at Coimbatore, was also arrested and the three told police during interrogation that Lokka’s pistol was with Thananayaka.Lokka’s lover Amani Danji, who was at Coimbatore with him, was also taken into custody.The three confessed to police that Lokka had a pistol with Thananayaka during interrogation.

It was a tip-off to CB-CID Superintendent, P.Sivakumar that led to the arrest of Thananayaka after police traced him to Banswadi in Bengaluru.Thananayaka was arrested after police traced him back to Bengaluru’s Banswadi.He was tracked at an apartment at Banaswadi owned by the sister of Gopalakrishnan and the police arrested the duo.The police tracked him down to an apartment in Banaswadi, where he was arrested by Gopalakrishnan’s sister.

Gopalakrishnan was on bail after being arrested by the Kancheepuram ‘Q’ branch police in a case related to the shelter extended to another Sri Lankan national, Suresh who was arrested a few months before.

Gopalakrishnan was released on bail by Kancheepuram Q branch police after he was arrested in connection to the shelter that was extended to Suresh, a Sri Lankan national who had been arrested several months prior.Gopalakrishnan had come out on bail, in that case, a couple of months before.

Gopalakrishnan was released on bail in this case a few months ago.
