Colombo : , Nov 19, 2009 – Charith Asalanka has been selected for the home-series against West Indies.He was the top scorer for Sri Lanka at the T20 World Cup.
Asalanka was called up due to his outstanding performance at the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, where he became Sri Lanka’s top run-scorer.However, Wanindu Hasaranga who came in as the top wicket taker with 16 runs, was not there as Sri Lanka Cricket announced Friday a 22-member team.

Dushmantha Chamela, who missed the Test series against Bangladesh because of personal commitments had returned to the series.

Lahiru Thirimanne and Niroshan Dickwella are also notable absences.

Dickwella currently has a ban from England for violating the bio-bubble.

The side has seen several call-ups, with Minod Bhanuka and Chamika Karaunaratne both returning.

Three uncapped players are also part of the squad: Kamil Mishara and Suminda Lekshan.Chamika Gunasekara is not included in this group.

Lasith Emuldeniya and Lakshan Sandakan will be participating in the spin attack.Lasith is currently recovering from an injury to his thigh.

Galle’s November 21st marks the beginning of the two-Test series.
