The Union govt has introduced a UD ID card (Unique Disability Identity Card) with the intention of easing the life of specially-abled people.In other words, this has become a boon for disabled people.
Generally, physically challenged people have to carry various documents and certificates resembling their disability.Against this backdrop, the Union government has introduced the UD ID card with the aim of benefiting the disabled without these issues.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government has recently directed the Disability Welfare Department at the West Godavari district headquarters to issue UD ID cards to all eligible disabled individuals.As per the government records, currently, there are 54,052 disabled people across the district.
The unique identity card will have the name of the individual, identification number, date of birth, percentage of disability, date of issue, the identification ID number and the QR code printed on the back of the card.This card is valid forever.
Scanning the code on the back of the UD ID card gives the full details of the person.So far, 9,984 identity cards have been issued in the first and second phases across the district.
