The danger bells are ringing in the Bollywood industry.The success of Baahubali has surely alarmed the Bollywood filmmakers about future of South Cinema.
More importantly, the Khans, who are the only difference between Bollywood and South Cinema, have entered into 50’s.In next few years, they would take retirement from Cinema.
What next ? Who will bear the responsibility of Bollywood after Khans ?
When the same question was kept in front of Karan Johar, “It’s a problem… we are going through crises.There are just a few stars who are viable, saleable, etc., there are many filmmakers and stories to be told.The way we used to love our stars up to 80s, that madness and insanity is depleting with time.We need to make more films.There is a dearth of viable actors but we have ‘Talent Next’, it opens doors for talent but it’s up to the audience as they love the actors,” this is what he answered to DNA which carries the bother of downfall.
Evidently, South Cinema holds high level of occupancy rate when compared with Bollywood.Rajinikanth, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Vijay, Ajith and NTR, stars of this league are delivering thunderous openings which are equal to Khans non holiday openers.It’s not far away, South Cinema is expected to takeover Bollywood.
It’s a big question ? Who will lead Bollywood after Khans, Akshay and Ajay Devgn retire.Will Hrithik alone manage things ? Will he be able to compete with everyday growing market of South Cinema ?
