Chandigarh 29 Nov : A 39 year-old South Africa refugee was tested on Monday and found to be positive for Covid-19, according to the Chandigarh administration.A member of his family and his domestic help were also positive for the virus.
Protocol dictates that the positive cases will be transferred to an institution quarantine facility.
Official statements stated that the samples from the positive cases will undergo whole genome sequencing at the NCDC, Delhi.
This will determine the variant or variant of concern.
“A Sector 36 resident aged 39 had returned from South Africa on 21 November.
On his arrival at the airport, he was RTPCR negative.It added that he was quarantined at his home upon his arrival in Chandigarh.
