New Delhi, November 20, 2018 : .Tamil Nadu defeated Hyderabad eight times to reach their third consecutive final of Syed Mushtaq Al Trophy at Arun Jaitley Stadium. P Saravana Kumar, a pacer who claimed a remarkable five wicket haul, won the win.With Kumar’s 5/21, Hyderabad was bowled out in 90 overs.Tamil Nadu responded with 8 wickets and 46 remaining balls.
Kumar, who had chosen to start first, made good use of the early moisture and struck in his first over.He took out Tanmay Aggarwal.Agarwal was caught flying off to the third man.In his 32nd T20 match, Kumar, who was playing his first, scored another maiden, but he also took out Tanmay Agarwal, after which he had two more scalps.
Tilak Varma was straight to the point.
Himalay Agarwal showed a sharp outswinger for wide slip.
In the last over of power play, Kumar gave up his first runs.
He was hit by a six from Bavanaka Sandeep.However, that six did not rattle Kumar.Pragnay Reddy went straight for a juggling backwards point and left Hyderabad at 26/4 after 5.4 overs.
After power-play, Hyderabad was in worse shape as Sandeep escaped to Murugan Ashwin, a long-offend leg-spinner.T Ravi Teja pulled M Mohammed to the mid-wicket with a pull two overs later.
Tanay Thiagarajan was the only ranger for Hyderabad, scoring 39 runs in 9.2 innings.Kumar finished Kumar’s 5-wicket run in 19 overs with 25 runs.
Hyderabad did their best not to let this happen.
Rakshann Readerdi struck out N Jagadeesan (opening pair) and Hari Nishanth (second over).Vijay Shankar (43) and Sai Sudarshan (34) were able to overcome any fears and rotate the strike, stroking boundaries effortlessly.
The chase was completed by Captain Shankar with a hook six on fine leg.Tamil Nadu won easily.The title clash will take place on Monday, and they now wait for the victor of Vidarbha vs Karnataka’s second semifinal.
