On a most surprising move veteran Music director MM Keeravani had decided to quit the music .Having scored music in several languages for many movies, Keeravani will be retiring on 8th December 2016.

He announced about his retirement plans on his Facebook page.Here is what he posted –

“I recorded my 1st song on 9th December 1989 at Prasad Studios Chennai.

The very day i fixed my retirement day to be 8th December 2016 which i am planning to celebrate the day with my close associates and musicians.most likely at Prasad Studio, Hyderabad.

So it is hardly 3 more years to go.Meanwhile i am happy to start this new journey on FB from tomorrow, details will be updated in the evening.I thank all of my fans who spared their time to express their likes, dislikes, advices and wishes to me all these years !!”

Keeravani first began his career as an Assistant music director with the noted composer Chakravarthy in the year 1987.Manasu Mamatha'( 1990) was considered to be the debut movie of keeravani as a musician.

However, it was ‘Gharanamogudu(1992), which brought him stardom as a musician.

Keeravani received National Film Award for Best Music Direction for ‘Annamayya’ in 1997.

He also received eight Nandi awards as a best music director.Off late, Keeravani became selective in his music compositions.

He composed music for Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam films in the past 25 years.MM Keeravani is presently working for Sekhar Kammula’s ‘Anamika’ and cousin Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali’.

This will be certainly a bad news for all his admirers
