Melbourne 9 August : The former Pakistani seamer Shoaib Akhtar has asked the community to pray for his health as he was admitted to a Melbourne hospital for a knee replacement.Akhtar posted on Twitter a video from the hospital explaining that the procedure would take eight hours long and that he will need prayers.
The Rawalpindi Express said he was scheduled to undergo the procedure a few months ago, but the procedure was delayed due to various reasons.
“I would have been able to play for an additional four or five years.
However, I knew that in the event that he did then, I would be wheelchair-bound.This is why I quit cricket,” Akhtar said in the video.
