Jammu 29 August : The authorities on Monday put in place Section 144 in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba to stop protests and rallies along the national highway officials stated.
An order issued by Anuradha Gopta District Magistrate Samba The order reads “Section 144 will be in force on the 29th of August and last for 2 months”.

The order states that the Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No.3282 of 2020 has ordered that the use of public areas for protests is unacceptable and that the administration must take steps to keep these areas free of obstructions or encroachments.

“It was observed that a variety of organizations or groups, as well as individuals, attempt to organize protests or rallies, as well as dharnas, on the national highways, which causes obstruction and major inconvenience to the public, as the nation’s highways constitute the main highway in the district.These protests and rallies create major traffic congestion that affects the traffic flow of vehicles on the national highways.

“It is it appears to me, in view of the situation that has developed due to these blockades that there is enough grounds to proceed under Section of 144 of CrPC for the immediate prevention of threats to peace and peace, human life, and security,” the order stated.
