RTC employee’s ends strike

RTC employees from both Telugu states decided to end their eight days long strike.Both governments agreed for the demands of employees.

The RTC Employees Union and Cabinet Sub-Committee reached to an agreement accordingly a short while ago.

AP government agreed to give 43% fitment to RTC staff on par with the government employees and labour Minister Atchannaidu made the announcement regarding this.Atchannaidu said that RTC suffered Rs 100 Crore loss during the last 8 days where strike was in place.

The minister announced that arrears of the last three months would be paid during the Dasara and Diwali period and the other arrears would be paid at the time of retirement.

This meant that the additional burden on the AP government would be of the order of Rs 900 crore.

Meanwhile Telangana CM KCR announced 44 per cent fitment, one per cent more than that announced by the TDP government.

He said the fitment would be implemented from June and the arrears would be given in two phases.

The bandh call given by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Employees Union (APSRTC-EU) and Telangana Mazdoor Union (TMU), hampered the regular bus services and Passengers put to hardship in all districts of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as all the RTC buses were confined to the depots.

With the strike ended the Employees were asked to join the duties immediately.Even a day after Hyderabad High Court termed the strike illegal and asked the employees to call off the strike immediately, over one lakh employees stayed away from duty.
