New Delhi, Aug 18 : Rohit Sharma, in his efforts to eliminate plastic waste, has teamed up with German multi-national sportswear company adidas to launch a limited edition Sustainable Apparel Collection. This collection is in the same vein with adidas Rohit’s long-standing partnership and commitment to stop the use of plastic.
Rohit Sharma was seen during the two previous editions of IPL in which he took advantage of the global stage to show off specially designed shoes that highlight the cause and spreading awareness about the issue of marine plastic pollution.He utilized the stage of IPL to draw attention to the issue and increase awareness of the issue of marine plastic pollution.
In conjunction with adidas India, he has also committed to taking the initiative to create an environmentally sustainable planet.with adidas’ backing he has declared that for each run he achieved adidas collected 10 bottles of plastic from beaches in Mumbai in the previous season of IPL.Rohit has been committed to this cause both on and off the pitch.
Rohit has also shared a post about his support for the cause via social media.”Playing cricket is my passion and making this world a better place for everyone is an ideal cause that we all have to be working towards.It was a privilege for me to carry the cause that is near to my heart with me out on the field as I pursue my passions.I carry my cause with me as I do what I am passionate about! I am out with my cause, but it’s not over I’m looking for you to walk with me.” He wrote two blog posts following each game and highlighting the importance of rhino conservation in the first, and speaking about the importance of cleaning our oceans in the second.
The trendy and ‘Sustainable Collection is comprised of an assortment of products that range from Training T-Shirts, Training Pants Shorts, Track Suits, Track Pants, Polo T-Shirts, Roundneck T-Shirts Sweatshirts and Lounge Pants.The collection was created by the renowned designer Aaquib Wani in collaboration with Rohit.
The limited edition collection is sold in selected stores and on adidas.co.in.
