Police in Delhi continues to reshuffle; six cops are transferred

New Delhi, Nov 18 : Delhi Lt.On Thursday, Governor Anil Baijal ordered a reshuffle of the ranks for six top officers in Delhi Police.
An order from Baijal has seen the transfer of four Indian Police Service officers (IPS), and two cadre officers for Delhi, Andaman, and Nicobar Islands Police Service to new posts.

Jaspal Singh (a 1996-batch IPS Officer who held the Charge of Special CP(New Delhi Range), has been appointed Managing Director for the Delhi Police Housing Corporation.

Alok Kumar, Special CP (Crime), was moved to Provisioning and Logistics.This division is part of the Provisioning and Finance Division.

Manish Kumar Aggarwal (Special CP) Traffic HQ has been transferred to Protective Security Division under the ID Shukla.He was previously posted in Goa and was later promoted to Director General of Police.

Shalini Singh (Special CP) was a 1996 batch IPS officer who was transferred to Welfare Department, which now falls under the Human Resource Division.

Sukhraj Kathwa was serving at the moment as an Additional DCP (Security).

Satish Kumar was previously posted to Dwarka as an Additional DCP–II.Satish will serve now as DCP/HQ-1 for Welfare.

For the necessary actions, Rakesh Asthana, Commissioner of Police has received his directive from LG.

This development follows just two days in which 44 officers, Station House Inspectors and Station House Officers were transferred to new roles.

IANS was informed by officials who were privy to this development that transfers are part of the normal procedure and that these rejigs aim to increase transparency and accountability within the system.

Many senior police officers were transferred between September and October.

In just two months, over 50 senior IPS officers received new assignments.
