New Delhi, December 29, : , Flamboyant opener Prithvi Sharma and left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav are the leaders of Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming Ranji Trophy Season. Shaw, 22 years old, has extensive experience in captaincy.
When India won the Under-19 World Cup 2018, he was India’s captain.He was also the captain of Mumbai in their win at the Vijay Hazare crown last season.
It will however be his first captaincy in first-class cricket.
Arjun Tendulkar (the son of legend Sachin Tendulkar) has been added to the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team.
Arjun, a 22-year old fast bowler, was part of Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Al Trophy squad.He made his senior debut in Haryana against Haryana and returned figures of 1 to 34 after three overs.
He was also part of Mumbai’s defeat against Puducherry.
Allrounder Shivam dube (who has previously played in one ODI as well as 13 T20Is) is included along with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan and Arman Jaffer.Aditya Tare will also be there.Dhawal Kulkarni, Shams Mulani and Shashank Attarde will be leading the bowling attack that includes Mohit Awasthi (bowling), Roystan Dias (bowling) and Shashank Attarde (batting).
Mumbai, 41-time Ranji Trophy winners, is now in Elite Group C.They will begin their campaign against Maharashtra January 13th, before taking on Delhi January 20.
Kuleep will be captaining UP at the Ranji Trophy.This is despite an injury.
Since being ruled out from the second leg IPL 2021 by a knee injury, he has been absent.
In September, the Chinaman had knee surgery and is now on his way to recovery at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy.
He will be monitored by the selectors for his performances in Ranji Trophy.If he does well, then he may also return to the national team.
Kuldeep was not the only one named vice-captain for the team that included Priyam Garg and Shivam Mavi, Akshdeep Nath, and many others.
