Director Krish is well known for his films and has attained immense fame with ‘Gautami Putra Satakarni’ and ‘Kanche’.However, he was shocked by the response received from NTR’s biopic, ‘Kathanayakudu’ and ‘Mahanayakudu’ starring Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Currently, he purchased the rights worth 10 lakhs for a novel that was written by Sannapureddy Venkata Ramireddy in 2019 named ‘Kondapolam’.The novel ‘Kondapolam’ is all about the lives of the villagers who live on the hills along with their cattle and sheep.
For this small budget rural drama, Krish retained the title and locked it for the film with Vaishnav Tej as the starrer.It is a known news that Rakul Preet Singh was roped as the female lead in this film.
Now the latest news is that she will be seen in a completely de-glam avatar and will also alter and render her dialogues in a Rayalaseema dialect in order to fit right into the role.Her character for this film is named as “Obulamma” who will be a daily wage agricultural labor.
A few years ago a similar role was played by Samantha Akkineni in ‘Rangasthalam’ as Ramulamma.
The entire film of Vaishnav Tej and Rakul Preet Singh was shot in and around Vikarabad forests and the makers are currently in their post-production phase.‘Kondapolam’ may skip its theatrical release and premiere on a popular OTT platform instead.Vaishnav Tej is also eagerly awaiting the release of his first film, ‘Uppena’ which has been postponed for more than 10 months so far.Let’s see which movie will be released prior to the other.
