Rajya Lakshmi was born in Tenali of Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh to a middle class family.in 1979 she was studying her class tenth and the director of film K.Vishwanath was looking for a female character and Rajya Lakshmi and her mother travelled to Chennai for a film opportunity.As Director K.Vishwanath looking for a female artist in the film for a role call Sharada and he thought that she was a perfect fit for the role and after that film went on to do well and film was a super hit and with this film she got more movie offers from other movie industries as well.
she also acted nearly 20 films as heroine movies like Nelavanka, Chevi Lo Puvvu, Justice Chowdary, Abhinaandhana and many more movie.She even acted other film industries as well like Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
She even spoke about her first remuneration back in 1979 it was around 5000 rupees and it was a high paid salary for her and she said that with those money she even could afford to buy a houses.
