New Delhi/Mumbai, November 21st : , Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attacked China’s Indo-Pacific expansionist strategy without taking it name.He said that some “irresponsible countries” are acting in their partisan interest by giving inappropriate interpretations of international law.

The arbitrary interpretations are a hindrance to establishing a maritime rule-based order.He stated that a rule-based Indo-Pacific with free navigation, open trade, and universal values is what we envision.All the countries involved are represented.

Singh reiterated the fact that India as a maritime stakeholder is an advocate of consensus-based principles, a peaceful, open and rule-based maritime order, and is therefore a strong supporter.

Territorial waters of countries, exclusive economic zones, and the principle of Good Order at Sea’ were all established.

Defence Minister emphasized the importance of keeping the Indo-Pacific region safe, secure and open.

He referred to it as the main objective for the Indian Navy.

He stated that India’s interest are directly tied to the Indian Ocean, and the region was crucial for the global economy.

The maritime domain is also affected by terrorism, piracy and illegal smuggling arms and drugs, human trafficking and illegal fishing, as well as environmental damage.He said that the Indian Navy’s role is crucial in the whole Indo-Pacific.

Singh was the official inductor of the first of four Visakhapatnam-class destroyers.The ship was designed and built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited in Mumbai.

The ship is named after Visakhapatnam on the east coast of Andhra Pradesh, also known as the “City of Destiny”, and has an estimated 315 staff.

INS Visakhapatnam was referred to by Singh during his speech as a symbol for the nation’s growing maritime prowess and a significant milestone in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Make in India.Make for the World.’

The ship, he said, is an omen of the maritime strength and shipbuilding abilities that India had in ancient and medieval times.

Singh expressed confidence in the ship’s state-of the-art capabilities, which are equipped with the most recent weapons and systems, and that it will help to strengthen maritime security and defend the national interests.

The ship is a technologically superior guided missile destroyer that will serve the current and future needs of both the Armed Forces of the United States and of the entire nation.

The self-reliance of Indian Navy was appreciated by him.He referred to navy’s purchase of 39 out of 41 submarines and ships from Indian shipyards, as an example of their dedication towards attaining ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.

He described the creation of Indigenous Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant as an important step on their journey to attain ‘Atmanirbharta.

The carrier will expand our reach to the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean.

The Indian Defence will mark a significant moment in its history with the commissioning of this carrier.He said that it would be the ideal occasion to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence and the 50th Anniversary of India’s Victory in the 1971 War.”

Singh expressed appreciation for the Indian Navy’s efforts in participating in different outreach programmes of industries and increasing indigenised articles under the ‘Float,’ ‘Move and ‘Fight’ category.He stressed the importance of maintaining momentum and said that the steps taken by government would continue to boost self-reliance efforts.

Soon, ships will be built not only for India but also for the whole world.

He promised that government would continue to support this vision.

Rajnath Singh stated that countries have been forced to strengthen their military capabilities by global security concerns, maritime disputes, and maritime dominance.He exhorted both the private and public sectors to work with government policies and create an Indian shipbuilding center.
