He spoke casually: “As an actor it is my job” and added that: “I don’t think much.Whatever comes to me , I take it in and try to bring justice to it.I don’t care whether it’s good or not I simply take on the task and let creatives and production teams do their work.In the film “Piya Rangrezz,” I played an UP guy, and I was able to do what was needed and now I am doing what’s needed.”

During the promotional phase of his show “Sanjog” in Mumbai, he told IANS about his journey into the entertainment industry. It all started in a bizarre manner, while he was enjoying his holiday in Shimla.

“I remember the moment the moment that the creator of the reality series “Get Gorgeous” saw me walking through the streets and said, ‘You’ve got the potential, and we’re holding auditions in Delhi. You should visit there’.I auditioned there and was picked.I was also the winner of the show in the year 2010.” he said.

But, recognizing his shortcomings, he said that after winning the competition, he stopped looking for work and began to party with friends and enjoying his success.

“After being crowned the winner of the show,, I went to Mumbai and was like now I had the fame and also work. What’s the reason to think about it? I was doing just parties and nothing else.So I quit working.I was unable to remember the process due to of some amount of effort that I put in which is why I earned the name and fame.”

“Because work is available to those who are seeking employment and is hardworking. Then I realized the reality,” he added, declaring that when he went out to look for a project, he was able to get it right away.

He continued: “After the lesson I received in my life, I did not look back, and I never displayed any hesitation in playing any type of role.At the age of 30 years old, I played the role of 55-year-old man in “Tujhse Hai Raabta”.This was due to two reasons.

First, prior to this show, I played characters that were gray, and I wanted to change the stereotype.Secondly I’m in the business to become an actor, so I do not want to be picky all the time.”

The film was an opportunity for Rajat as he was able to play the lead role with the well-known actress Kamya Punjabi.

“Despite my fact that I do not consider lead or parallel leads this time, I wanted to demonstrate my worth, and when this opportunity came my way I jumped at it right away.”

The show’s protagonist is he plays Gopal whom is Gauri’s(Kamya Panjabi) husband.

When he praised Kamya, he said: “She is an amazing actor and the manner in which she has made every effort to be in the midst of character is just amazing. It’s very difficult for her.Language is a major obstacle. However, she overcame the line.On her show she played an Punjabi character and it was very difficult to break away of Punjabi dialect, and to speak with the typical Rajasthani accent.

There are times when she isn’t doing her best and I make a point, she is never stern and doesn’t say “I’m not doing it or say anything, she just puts in the effort to give her best.I am sure that the audience will witness the connection between us in the show.”

“Sanjog” The show starring Kamya Punjabi Shefali Sharma, Rajniesh Duggall and Rajat Dahiya will start on August 22nd on Zee TV.
