Rajamouli’s protégé Ashwin Gangaraju will take over the helm of Telugu version of “Anandamath,”

Chennai 17 August : Director S S Rajamouli’s assistant Ashwin Gangaraju, who worked with his mentor in the films ‘Eega’ and “Baahubali’ (both parts) and is most well-known for directing “Aakashvani” in 2021, will direct the epic film ‘1770″ which will be inspired by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s Bengali novel “Anandamath”.
The film’s producers of the filmthe film’s producers – Shhailendra Kumar, Sujayy Kuttiy, Krishna Kumar B and Suraj Sharma — unveiled motion posters of the movie on Wednesday, to commemorate 150 years of “Vande Mataram”.

“This topic was a massive task for me however, with the legendary V Vijayendra Prasad sir writing the screenplay and adaptation of the story I believe that the story we’ve written is an experience in cinema that is blockbuster,” says director Ashwin Gangaraju.

“As filmmaker, I’m attracted by stories that include periodic setups, more emotions, and the potential for greater than life action, and this fits in perfect for me.At first I was skeptical, but I spoke with Ram Kamal Mukherjee and after listening to his ideas I felt more confident,” he adds.

“I met with the producers Shhailendra Ji, Sujayy Kuttiy sir, Krishna Kumar sir and Suraj Sharma in Mumbai shortly afterward.

We had a lengthy discussion about the film and how they plan to push the film forward.Their warm and positive attitude of working together inspired me to connect with them immediately,” says Ashwin.

It also marks the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram The song that first appeared in the novel by Bankim Chandra “Anandamath,” which nearly rocked the foundations of the British Empire.

India’s most famous storyteller V Vijayendra Prasad who penned the screenplay, “I feel that Vande Mataram was an enchanting word.It was a mantra used by Maharishi Bankim Chandra to encourage an entire people to come together against oppression and injustice.In 1770 we were confronted with the tale of unidentified warriors who sparked the flames of the movement for freedom.”

The internationally acclaimed filmmaker and author Ram Kamal Mukherjee being the creator of this epic work declares, “I am grateful to my producers for believing in my idea.I instantly liked the spirit of Ashwin as filmmaker.

He was prepared, with his own ideas which enhanced the narrative visually.I loved his film “Aakashvani and was impressed with his ability as an actor and storyteller.

But the most important part of “1770” is in the enchanting words composed by Vijayendra Prasad sir, who is famous for his innovative ideas.His method of storytelling connects with the viewers, and transcends the boundaries of language.I am extremely blessed to be part of a an enthusiastic team such as this.”

Shhailendra Kkumar of SS1 Entertainment feels that this is the perfect moment to create the biggest-than-life cinema.He worked with Suraj Sharma from PK Entertainment and former Zee Studio head Sujayy Kuttiy and producer Krishna Kumar B to make this dream come to life.

“Being one of the singers from Jhansi We grew to sing Vande Mataram in our colleges and schools.

However, when Ram da (Kamal) mentioned the story of “Anandamath,” and Vijayendra sir shared his version I was totally blown over.I am thankful to Sujoyy Kuttiy and Krishna Kumar B for making this impossible task possible.It’s not a movie but a dream to build one of the most entertaining cinemas on the big screen.”

Suraj Sharma from PK Entertainment says, “Being the youngest in the group I am ecstatic to be an integral participant of the dream team.I am fortunate to learn from the legends and experts who have created blockbusters like these.”

Producer Sujoyy Kuttiy, known for making historical sagas such as ‘Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi’ and a host of other prestigious films produced by Zee Studios, collaborated in 1770 because he saw potential in the story.

“My relationship with Vijayendra Prasad sir is beyond me.He has been an inspirational figure.I was certain that if I ever made “1770,” it must be written by Sir or else I’m not doing this movie,” says Kuttiy.

“Sujoyy sir is 100% correct,” seconds producer Krishna Kumar B, “A film that is as big as ‘Anandamath’ requires an extremely strong shoulder.

We have a long history of singing Vande Mataram and, this is the beginning of this song.I have been working closely with Ashwin and his colleagues and the moment Ram Garu (Kamal) narrated the story to me, I was thinking of Ashwin in my thoughts.”

The movie will be produced in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.The team will decide on the main character prior to Dussehra and at Deepavali the team will announce the actors of the movie.

Ashwin and with his team has begun looking into the period and trying to make a visual that is distinctive.
