The Visakhapatnam Meteorological Department forecasted that the southwest monsoon will intensify in the south-eastern Arabian Sea on Thursday.The monsoon is expected to bring early rains to the state.

Already, it is raining heavily in many parts of the state.On Wednesday, the Krishna district received 122 mm of rainfall in Nuzvidu, 109 mm in Agiripalli, 99 mm in Thotapalli, 98.5 mm in Palakonda in Srikakulam district, 50 mm in Palasa, 48 mm in Kanchili, 47 mm in Meliaputti and Rajam and 46.5 mm in Ichapuram.
Bondapalli in Vizianagaram district received 44.25 mm of rainfall.41.5 mm of rainfall is recorded in Sitanagaram.Visakhapatnam district recorded 34.75 mm of rainfall.The rains severely affected several parts of the Visakhapatnam district.
Biriguda and Muthagummi streams in the Munchangiputtu zone are flowing heavily.Heavy lightning appeared in Araku Valley and Dumbrigade zones.
Heavy rains followed by thunder, lightning and heavy winds lashed most parts of the coast.Trees and electricity poles collapsed in several places of the state.The rains caused damage to horticultural crops.
