Rahul Ram has released ‘Jai Ho Cover with the music group Delhi Indie Project

Mumbai 15 August : Indian Ocean bass guitarist and Aisi Taisi Democracy co-founder Rahul Ram has released an original cover of A.R.Rahman’s Oscar-winning “Jai Ho track’ for “Slumdog Millionaire” on Monday, to commemorate the 75th Independence Day.
He has worked with musicians like IP Singh, Shibani Kashyap, Subir Malik and others under the umbrella of the collective music Delhi Indie Project.The video features the musicians all dressed in white while they lip sync to the lyrics of the song, without the lyrics in Spanish that were originally composed by Gulzar.

A message that was included with the video read: “Dedicating the 75th Independence Day to the Armed Forces of India! Jai Hind! Sincere thanks and appreciation to family and friends who have helping us out at every turn in.”

The original song, ‘Jai Ho’ intriguingly, was planned to be featured in the Salman Khan-starring film ‘Yuvvraaj however it was a hit in Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire’.It was sung by A.R.Rahman, Sukhwinder Singh, Tanvi, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Vijay Prakash, the track has become in popularity with the sense of gratitude for the accomplishments of India after its liberation from the British yoke.
